The Hillside Hornets stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 72-14 victory over Northern Durham on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Hillside has managed all season.
Hillside got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kayden Sims out in front who scored nine points along with five rebounds and two steals. Madison Malone was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
The win (which was Hillside's sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Northern Durham, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Hillside will look to defend their home court on Friday against East Chapel Hill at 5:30 p.m. East Chapel Hill is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Northern Durham, they will head out on the road to challenge Chapel Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Chapel Hill will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
