The Millington Cardinals will challenge the Reese Rockets at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Millington is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
Millington barely beat Mayville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cardinals put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 9-1 win on Monday. The Cardinals not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 14th (when they won 12-1).

Garret Woodward and Truk Terbush made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Woodward tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Terbush tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Woodward went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Terbush went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landon Russell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brayden Strunk, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Millington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mayville only posted a batting average of .125.
Reese came out on top against Caro on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fourth inning. The Rockets took their match against the Tigers 8-5.
Millington is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Reese, their win bumped their record up to 4-2-1.
Millington beat Reese 14-9 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Cardinals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rockets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
