The IMG Academy Gold Ascenders will face off against the Inspiration Academy Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games IMG Academy Gold has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
IMG Academy Gold took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Central Pointe Christian Academy 4-3.

Miguel Barajas looked comfortable as he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
At the plate, IMG Academy Gold let Cade Hudmon and Rondy Bryant run wild. Hudmon went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Bryant went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave Bryant a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of David Bullard, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Meanwhile, Inspiration Academy has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 4.09 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They fell just short of Sunshine State Elite Academy by a score of 10-9. The Lions just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.
Inspiration Academy also got a good showing from Kolten Harris, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. That's the fewest earned runs Harris has allowed since back in February.
On the hitting side, Ty Harvey made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Jackson Bradley was another key player, going 1-for-4 with four RBI and one double.
Inspiration Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for IMG Academy Gold, the victory got them back to even at 12-12.
IMG Academy Gold skirted past Inspiration Academy 6-4 in their previous meeting on April 1st. Do the Ascenders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
