Conneaut is 0-5 against Jefferson Area since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Conneaut Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Jefferson Area Falcons at 6:45 p.m. Hopefully Conneaut focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Saturday.
Conneaut pushed their score all the way to 57, but even that wasn't enough to win. They had to suffer through a rough 90-57 loss at the hands of Harvey. It was the first time this season that Conneaut let down their fans at home.
Despite the defeat, Conneaut got a solid performance out of Chance Loomis, who scored 26 points. The contest was Loomis' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cole Stump, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Jefferson Area's five-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Wednesday. They blew past Lakeside 68-40 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Jefferson Area has managed all season.
Conneaut's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-2. As for Jefferson Area, their win bumped their record up to 1-3.
Conneaut took a serious blow against Jefferson Area in their previous matchup back in February, falling 69-41. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Conneaut was down 39-19.
