The Leake County Gators had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 44.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 67-37 win over Stringer on the road. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Leake County also won the last time the pair played last Tuesday.
Leake County found their leader in underclassman Treylon Ricks, who scored 20 points along with three steals. Ricks hasn't dropped below 17 points for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Marques Triplett, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Leake County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-13 record this season. As for Stringer, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-19.
Leake County and the Tartars will face off at 12:00 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Taylorsville is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Stringer, they will head out on the road to face off against the Tornadoes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Piney Woods will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
