The Foothills Christian Knights will take on the St. Joseph Academy Crusaders at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Foothills Christian comes in on four and St. Joseph Academy on three.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Foothills Christian walked away with it. They put the hurt on Coastal Academy with a sharp 29-8 victory on Friday. Considering Foothills Christian has won five games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Foothills Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ben Hernandez led the charge by rushing for 120 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Hernandez was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kameron Brown, who rushed for 146 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
Meanwhile, St. Joseph Academy strolled past Calvin Christian with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 32-14. St. Joseph Academy pushed the score to 20-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Calvin Christian cut but never quite recovered from.
Foothills Christian's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for St. Joseph Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.
Everything went Foothills Christian's way against St. Joseph Academy in their previous meeting back in October as Foothills Christian made off with a 57-34 victory.
