The Loveland Red Wolves will head out on the road to challenge the Windsor Wizards at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Loveland is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
Loveland came into this matchup off a tough 15-run loss on Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Ponderosa by a score of 8-6 on Monday.

Alex Martin put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one triple.
Martin wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Will Dunbar, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Windsor's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Fort Collins on Saturday. The Wizards came out on top against the Lambkins by a score of 9-5.
Like Loveland, Windsor also got a great game from a two-way player: Ethan Fillinger. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over 6.2 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Fillinger has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Mason Jordan and Eastin Hubbard did most of the damage at the plate: Jordan went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI, while Hubbard went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave Jordan a new career-high. Dax Vela was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Windsor's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Loveland, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Loveland has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Windsor struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Loveland might still be hurting after the 17-4 loss they got from Windsor in their previous meeting back in March of 2022. Can the Red Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
