The Tintic Miners will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Green River Pirates at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Tintic waltzed into Saturday's match with two straight wins but they left with three. Everything went their way against Monticello as Tintic made off with a 72-52 victory. The result was nothing new for Tintic, who have now won three matches by 20 points or more so far this season.
Tintic found their leader in underclassman Haygen Jameson, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds. The match was Jameson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Cole Ward was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 assists.
Meanwhile, Green River lost to Wayne on the road by a decisive 74-58 margin on Saturday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Green River in their matchups with Wayne: they've now lost six in a row.
Tintic has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Green River, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Everything came up roses for Tintic against Green River when the teams last played back in December of 2021 as the squad secured a 76-38 victory. Will Tintic repeat their success, or does Green River have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
