The Center Hill Mustangs will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Ridgeland Titans at 5:00 p.m. on February 10th. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
With a playoff game on the line, Center Hill rose to the challenge on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Falcons a 5-0 shutout. Center Hill might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won eight matchups by three goals or more this season.
Meanwhile, Ridgeland sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over Olive Branch on Tuesday. That's two games straight that Ridgeland has won by exactly one goal.
Their one-goal win came courtesy of
Jose Pinto Marquez, who's now up to 14 this season.
Center Hill is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2-1 record this season. As for Ridgeland, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-3-6.
Center Hill skirted past Ridgeland 3-2 in their previous matchup back in February of 2020. The rematch might be a little tougher for Center Hill since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
