Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Churchill Bulldogs walked away with it. They blew past Richard Montgomery 41-12 at home. The victory was familiar territory for Churchill who now have six in a row.
It was another big night for David Avit, who rushed for 187 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per carry. Avit hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for six straight games.
Several Rockets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Khalil Wilson, who picked up 95 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Churchill pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 29.0 points per game. As for Richard Montgomery, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
Churchill will be playing at home against Gaithersburg at 6:30 p.m. on November 10th. Gaithersburg is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games. Richard Montgomery does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
