The South Fork Cubs will challenge the Hoopa Valley Warriors at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as South Fork comes in on six and Hoopa Valley on four.
South Fork barely beat Willits the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cubs were the clear victors by a 16-4 margin over the Wolverines on Wednesday. The Cubs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by seven runs or more this season.
Mackenzie Coleman was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Coleman was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Kendall Kercher was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenzie Brewer, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double.
South Fork always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Hoopa Valley ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past St. Bernard's 16-15.
South Fork's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Hoopa Valley, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.
Everything went South Fork's way against Hoopa Valley when the teams last played back in March, as South Fork made off with a 7-0 victory. Do the Cubs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
