Evangel Christian waltzed into their matchup on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Southern Christian Patriots. The Lightning might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

RALEY CURTIS was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. WILL WELCH was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

CURTIS wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Evangel Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

Evangel Christian pushed their record up to 16-1 with the win, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Southern Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Evangel Christian will challenge Hope Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Southern Christian, they will square off against Springwood at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Southern Christian is facing Springwood at the right time seeing as Springwood is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
