Softball Recap: Opelousas Catholic's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Opelousas Catholic barely beat Catholic of Pointe Coupee the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Opelousas Catholic never let Catholic of Pointe Coupee get on the board and left with a 6-0 win on Tuesday. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by six runs or more this season.

Not much got past Ashley Little, who gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks to keep Catholic of Pointe Coupee off the board. Little has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Madison Gussman was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jordan White, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Opelousas Catholic moved to 9-9 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Catholic of Pointe Coupee, their loss dropped their record down to 15-6.

Coming up, Opelousas Catholic will welcome Loreauville at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Catholic of Pointe Coupee, they will head out on the road to challenge St. Edmund at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
