The Leetonia Bears lost against the McKinley Trojans back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Leetonia was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 39-38 to McKinley. Leetonia has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Leetonia's loss came despite strong showings from Dylan Johns and Ashbee Merritt. Johns scored 13 points, while Merritt scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Leetonia's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for McKinley, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leetonia will take on United at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McKinley, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Waterloo at 7:00 p.m.
