The Chester Yellowjackets won the last time they faced the Steeleville Warriors, and things went their way on Thursday too. Chester took down Steeleville 48-33. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Chester.
Chester found their leader in underclassman Lexie Mott, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Mott has scored at least a third of Chester's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lillian Diskey, who scored five points along with ten rebounds.
Chester pushed their record up to 13-10 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Steeleville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.
Chester will be playing in front of their home fans against Marissa/Coulterville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Marissa/Coulterville will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. Steeleville's road trip will continue as they head out to face Wesclin at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd.
