The Magdalena Steers are taking a road trip to square off against the Logan Longhorns at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Magdalena knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past 12 contests -- so hopefully Logan likes a good challenge.
Magdalena played against Grady on Friday and won via forfeit.

Ayden Herschbach was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-2. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Mathew Lopez was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Magdalena was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .688. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .345 or higher in 12 consecutive matchups.
On Friday, Logan made easy work of Cimarron and carried off a 13-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Longhorns, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.
Kale Griffiths spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up a single walk in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Mason Wallin was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Logan's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-6 when he doesn't). Mitchell Wall also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.
Magdalena pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Logan, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Magdalena has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .482. However, it's not like Logan struggles in that department as they've averaged .499. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Magdalena's way against Logan when the teams last played last Friday, as Magdalena made off with a 15-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Steers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
