The Clay City Eels lost against the Mitchell Bluejackets back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Clay City took a hard 52-34 fall against Mitchell. Clay City has not had much luck with Mitchell recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Loss or not, Clay City got some senior leadership from Lulu Koehler who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds and Kailyn Kirkling who scored 9 points. Koehler scored a full 35.3% of Clay City's points, the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Clay City's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Mitchell, their win bumped their record up to 1-9.
Clay City will head out on the road to face off against North Daviess at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. North Daviess has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Mitchell will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Rock Creek Academy at 11:00 a.m. on December 2nd.
