The New Richmond Lions had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 43-42 victory over Bethel-Tate. That result was just more of the same for these two, as New Richmond also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
New Richmond's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ryan Keith led the charge by scoring seven points along with six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylan Utter, who scored 11 points.
New Richmond's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-5. As for Bethel-Tate, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Richmond will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Mt. Healthy at 7:30 p.m. on December 22nd. Mt. Healthy is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. As for Bethel-Tate, they will head out on the road to face off against Deer Park at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (Deer Park is ranked 580th, while Bethel-Tate is ranked 564th).
