Austin Ellsworth and Branden Currey provided fans with a highlight when they connected against South Park. The longest such play in A-8 East - Central (8 Man) this season, the connection resulted in 70 yards.
Vail Christian extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Burros, 46-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Vail Christian's dynamic duo of Ellsworth and Currey proved tough for South Park to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Ellsworth threw for 203 yards and three touchdowns and Currey had 108 yards receiving. Mike Lange helped Vail Christian's passing attack out by catching two balls for 35 yards.
Mark Doolin was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 194 yards on 15 carries as Hayden bested Kevin Lane's team. Teammate Dan Engle added to the ground attack by rushing for 143 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Ellsworth and Mack Cooper Vail Christian has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Ellsworth leads the league in passing with 829 yards, while Cooper has rushed for 413 yards this season. The Burros' Jacob Weece leads the league in receiving yards with 400 on 18 catches.
The top two teams in A-8 East - Central (8 Man) will face off this week when first place Vail Christian takes on second place Soroco. The Saints topped South Park last week, while Soroco lost to the Tigers.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Vail Christian takes on the Rams. The Saints have allowed 32 points this season, while Soroco has given up 55. Vail Christian allowed 0 points last week as it defeated the Burros.
Hayden was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in the league. Shawn Baumgartner's team beat David Bruner's team 49-7 earlier in the week.
