The Eastside Blazers will be playing at home against the West Noble Chargers at 7:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Eastside's favor as the squad sits on ten straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while West Noble has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
Even though Eastside has not done well against Angola recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Eastside skirted past Angola 52-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Eastside has posted since November 7, 2023.
West Noble was handed a 29-point loss in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Churubusco on Thursday. West Noble had just enough and edged Churubusco out 34-31. The win was just what West Noble needed coming off of a 61-32 loss in their prior contest.
West Noble's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alayna C DeLong, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexia Mast, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Eastside has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. As for West Noble, their win bumped their record up to 2-16.
Eastside strolled past West Noble when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a score of 56-37. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was West Noble's Mackensy Mabie, who scored 16 points along with six steals. Now that she won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Eastside to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
