The Avon Orioles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell 63-50 to Zionsville. If Avon was looking for revenge after losing 68-56 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Avon lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kendrick Dunmore, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Miguel Correa, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Leading Zionsville to victory were Drew Snively and Maguire Mitchell. Snively scored 20 points along with six rebounds and five assists, while Mitchell scored 24 points. Snively also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. Jackson Tielker was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Avon has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season. As for Zionsville, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Avon will face off against the Flashes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Zionsville, they will head out on the road to take on the Giants at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Ben Davis presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Eagles in Indiana (the Giants are ranked sixth, while the Eagles are ranked 42nd).
