William Owens and Zion Rhoades were among the main playmakers for Mishawaka Marian as the former scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and two steals and the latter scored 23 points along with eight rebounds. Owens hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Jackson Horvath, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, South Bend St. Joseph put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Glenn 73-40 at home. The victory was nothing new for South Bend St. Joseph as they're now sitting on six straight.
Chase Konieczny was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with five steals. Nick Shrewsberry was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
Mishawaka Marian is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for South Bend St. Joseph, their win bumped their record up to 12-7.
Everything came up roses for Mishawaka Marian against South Bend St. Joseph in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 76-48 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mishawaka Marian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
