The Udall Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their sixth straight defeat. They fell 60-51 to Belle Plaine. If Udall was looking for revenge after losing 64-38 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
When it comes to explaining why Udall lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jenson Harness. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 31 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 60.8% of Udall's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Brent Burley was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Udall has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Belle Plaine, their win bumped their record up to 5-11.
Udall will head out on the road to square off against the Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully West Elk focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Monday. As for Belle Plaine, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cardinals on Tuesday. Cheney is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
