It was a good run, but The Amory Panthers unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Ripley 14-10. The low total for Amory limited their streak of high-flying scores to four in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Amory lost, one person who can't be blamed is Emmanuel Randle. Despite the final result, he rushed for 133 yards on only 12 carries. Randle is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played.
Amory's loss dropped their record down to 7-1. As for Ripley, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Amory is on the road again on Thursday and play against Shannon at 7:00 p.m. on October 26th. Shannon has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 127 points over their last three contests. As for Ripley, they will head out on the road to face off against New Albany at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. New Albany will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Ripley is ranked 20th).
