Given Elyria Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while Goessel is ranked 252nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Little River strolled past Canton-Galva with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 45-31.
Logan Renken was a one-man wrecking crew for Little River as he scored 19 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Renken hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Jaxson Konen was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Elyria Christian's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-1. As for Little River, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Elyria Christian against Little River when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 61-25 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Elyria Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
