Alex Wise made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Braden Waring, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Mount Dora Christian Academy's success: when he posts at least one home run the team is undefeated (and 12-13 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Eli Feld, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Mount Dora Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 9-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Trinity Christian Academy posted their closest win since April 13, 2024 on Tuesday. They skirted past Geneva 6-4.
Ruben Negron looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one walk in ten consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Kyle Kuczynski was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Caden McManama was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Mount Dora Christian Academy pushed their record up to 15-13 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 15-14.
Both Mount Dora Christian Academy and Trinity Christian Academy just can't seem to miss. The Bulldogs have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. However, it's not like Trinity Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
