The Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks lost against the Pueblo West Cyclones back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Cheyenne Mountain was outmatched by Pueblo West at home and fell 59-27. Cheyenne Mountain has not had much luck with Pueblo West recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Leading Pueblo West to victory were Jamie Suazo and Trynity Martin. Suazo scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five assists, while Martin dropped a double-double on 18 points and 19 rebounds. The game was Suazo's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Makenna McGraw, who scored eight points.
Cheyenne Mountain has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Pueblo West, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
Cheyenne Mountain will head out on the road to face off against Rampart at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pueblo West, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Pine Creek at 7:00 p.m.
