The Kenwood Bluebirds struggled with threes on Wednesday (the Loch Raven Raiders had five more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Kenwood ended up on the wrong side of a tough 61-37 walloping at the hands of the Raiders. Kenwood has struggled against the Raiders recently, as their match on Wednesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Kenwood lost, one person who can't be blamed is Diamond Watters. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 18 points and 18 rebounds. Watters hasn't dropped below 16 points for five straight games.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Loch Raven to victory, but perhaps none more so than Meona Boykin, who scored 17 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Maya Gordon, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten steals.
Kenwood now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Loch Raven, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kenwood will face off against the Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Loch Raven, they will head out on the road to challenge the Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
