After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Calexico, Palo Verde Valley was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Everything went their way against the Calipatria Hornets as they made off with a 17-1 win. The Yellow Jackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by six runs or more this season.
Palo Verde Valley got a massive performance out of Alyssa Pierce, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Yasleen Reyes, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.
The victory got Palo Verde Valley back to even at 8-8. As for Calipatria, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
