The Madison Cubs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. Everything went their way against Shawe Memorial as Madison made off with a 72-49 victory. That looming 72-49 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Madison yet this season.
Madison got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryder Jones out in front who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Jones pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Fife, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Madison's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Shawe Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madison will be home for the holidays to greet Tournament Team at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Shawe Memorial will finish 2023 at home by hosting Cannelton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
