Thayer Central is 2-8 against the Wolverines since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Wilber-Clatonia's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. The contest between them and Fillmore Central wasn't particularly close, with Wilber-Clatonia falling 49-35. Wilber-Clatonia has not had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Thayer Central has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Wilber-Clatonia, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.
Thayer Central couldn't quite finish off the Wolverines in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 and fell 47-44. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Wilber-Clatonia's Grant Kuhlmann, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
