Liberty is 1-6 against the Eagles since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Liberty Red Devils will look to defend their home court against the Chesnee Eagles at 8:00 p.m. Liberty has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Tuesday, everything came up roses for Liberty at home against the Warriors as the team secured a 77-49 win.
Liberty's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Logan Smith, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dawson Owen, who scored 18 points.
Meanwhile, Chesnee suffered a rough 66-46 loss at the hands of the Blazers on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Chesnee has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Chesnee saw an underclassman step up: Elijah Brown scored 13 points along with five rebounds. Kaylob Blanton was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds.
Liberty's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-15. As for Chesnee, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-12.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Liberty hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 63.7 points per game. However, it's not like Chesnee struggles in that department as they've been averaging 72.2 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Liberty took a serious blow against the Eagles in their previous matchup back in January, falling 108-70. Will Liberty have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
