The Preston Knights lost against the Hedgesville Eagles back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Preston had to suffer through a rough 72-24 loss at the hands of Hedgesville. Preston was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-8.
They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Aidan Schmidl and
Zachary Farrell, who each put up five points. Farrell also led the team in rebounds with three.
Preston's defeat was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-2. As for Hedgesville, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Preston and University will face off at 5:45 p.m. on December 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. University will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps West Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 534th, while Preston is ranked 45th). As for Hedgesville, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on St. James at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th.
