Bradshaw Mountain extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 6-7 in the process. They came up short against the Coconino Panthers, falling 17-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-2 on Tuesday.

Kodee Statler was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.
In other batting news, Jaslene Valentine made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Skye Oberan, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one run.
As for Coconino, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games.
Like Bradshaw Mountain, Coconino also got a great game from a two-way player: Kaitlyn Tso. She struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Tso was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Danica Kern, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with six stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those six stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Hailey Householder also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Looking ahead, Bradshaw Mountain will square off against Paradise Honors at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Bears surely won't give up without a fight. As for Coconino, they will take on Flagstaff at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
