The Vidor Pirates had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Buna with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 54-36. With that win, Vidor brought their scoring average up to 50.1 points per game.
Leading Vidor to victory were Madison Powell and Raegan Stephenson. Powell scored 10 points along with 7 steals and 6 rebounds, while Stephenson scored 13 points. The contest was Stephenson's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Perkins, who scored 8 points.
Vidor's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Buna, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.
Vidor will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Lumberton at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th. Lumberton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 990th, while Vidor is ranked 247th). As for Buna, they will square off against Lee at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
