The Otter Valley Otters waltzed into their match Wednesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 64-52 victory over Brattleboro. For Otter Valley, this counts as revenge for the 51-41 loss Brattleboro walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2021.
Several Bears players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Keagan Systo, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds. Those nine rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Johnathon Haskins was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Otter Valley's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Brattleboro, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Otter Valley will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Mt. Abraham at 7:00 p.m. on December 29th. Mt. Abraham is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Brattleboro will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Rutland at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
