The Itasca Wampus Cats will be playing at home against the Hillsboro Eagles at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Tuesday, Itasca took a serious blow against Leon, falling 53-17. Itasca was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-8.
Meanwhile, Hillsboro had to suffer through a rough 57-27 loss at the hands of Tolar. While losing is never fun, Hillsboro can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 938th, while Tolar is ranked 171st).
Despite the loss, Hillsboro saw an underclassman step up: Charlee Mack scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Mack scored a full 37% of Hillsboro's points, the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Grandview's win bumped their season record to 0-0 while Itasca's defeat dropped theirs to 4-5.
