The Hanover Area Hawkeyes will square off against MMI Preparatory School at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Hanover Area took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over Tunkhannock. Considering the Hawkeyes have won four matchups by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Conor Richardson was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Richardson, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, MMI Preparatory School made sure to put some runs up on the board against Weatherly on Saturday. MMI Preparatory School was the clear victor by a 13-1 margin over Weatherly. MMI Preparatory School hasn't had any issues with Weatherly recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Ben Gombeda made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single hit and allowing only one earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. He also allowed no hits, which is notable because MMI Preparatory School is 2-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 1-2 otherwise. Gombeda was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.
In other batting news, Ben Drobnock was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Derek Radzwich was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
MMI Preparatory School was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Hanover Area's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for MMI Preparatory School, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Hanover Area beat MMI Preparatory School 11-7 in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Will the Hawkeyes repeat their success, or do MMI Preparatory School have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
