Basketball Recap: River Ridge Piles Up the Points Against Wiregrass Ranch

River Ridge won against Gulf last Tuesday with 50 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The River Ridge Royal Knights breezed by the Wiregrass Ranch Bulls to the tune of 50-16. The Royal Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 27 points or more this season.

River Ridge's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lexi Wade, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten steals. With that strong performance, Wade is now averaging an impressive 2 blocks per game. Another player making a difference was Lauren Lee, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.

River Ridge was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wiregrass Ranch only racked up three assists.

Several Bulls players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Andralee Keim, who posted five points and seven boards. Keim has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Marley Campbell was another key player, putting up six points and eight rebounds.

River Ridge's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-7. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.5 points per game. As for Wiregrass Ranch, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.

River Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-41 win against Clearwater Central Catholic on the 29th. As for Wiregrass Ranch, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 38-32 victory against Zephyrhills on the 28th.
