Video: (19) IMG Academy vs. (20) Bergen Catholic - High school football previewIMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) at Bergen Catholic (Oradell, N.J.)
Saturday, 1 p.m. Eastern timeWhy it's big: This Saturday afternoon affair not only is the lone matchup between Xcellent 25 teams this week, it's also a singular showdown between 247Sports' top pro-style quarterback and the nation's highest-rated dual-threat passer.
Shea Patterson, a five-star prospect from Louisiana, completed 6 of 8 passes for season-high totals of 238 yards and four touchdowns as No. 19 IMG improved to 3-0 with a 49-7 rout of Cocoa last week. The 6-foot-2, 183-pound Mississippi recruit has lived up to his billing as a top pro-style talent with a QB rating of 148.0 this season.
Jarrett Guarantano flashed some of his dynamic dual-threat ability in No. 20 Bergen Catholic's surprisingly easy 47-14 win over state-ranked St. Peter's Prep (Jersey City). The Tennessee commit completed 16 of 21 passes for 161 yards and ran 15 times for 81 yards and two scores.
Names to watch: Patterson is just one of five IMG players on 247Sports' list of the Top 100 prospects in the Class of 2016. The group also includes four-star linebacker
Rahshaun Smith, a Baltimore native who shares the team lead in tackles with 23.
Gene Coleman II is probably the most explosive weapon surrounding Guarantano on Bergen Catholic's offense. The three-star senior receiver possesses 4.4 speed in the 40-yard dash.
