Football Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Shelby

Shelby extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping them up to 4-2. They were the clear victors by a 50-29 margin over the Stuart W. Cramer Storm. The result was nothing new for the Golden Lions, who have now won four matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.

Shelby's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lan Farmer, who threw for 295 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes, and also punched in a pair of scores on the ground. The dominant performance also gave Farmer a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Jamarion Jj Williams also helped out as he racked up 120 receiving yards.

Shelby's run defense was locked in: Stuart W. Cramer could only muster 1.3 yards per carry. The team can thank Landon Hollifield for the heroic effort on defense: he. Shelby hasn't allowed more than -6 yards per carry in four consecutive contests.

Shelby's defense also made the game a nightmare for Clee Phillips., racking up seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Hollifield and Julius Brooks, who racked up four sacks between them. Hollifield is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made nine or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Having lost for the first time this season, Stuart W. Cramer fell to 4-1. The game marked their lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the loss, Stuart W. Cramer still got an impressive performance from Qualteau Hawkins, who picked up 144 receiving yards and one TD. Cody Alexander got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Shelby will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lincolnton at 7:30 p.m. on October 10. As for Stuart W. Cramer, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Burns at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Storm will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 31 points in their last five contests.
