The Black River Pirates will take on the Waynedale Golden Bears at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their  contests after big wins in their previous games.
Black River is headed in fresh off scoring the most  runs they have   all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Oberlin  an   18-0 shutout  on Wednesday. The  victory was familiar territory for the Pirates, who have now won six  matches in a row.
 Rebekah Miller was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run and  allowing only  one  hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Miller was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances with one  run and one  RBI.

 In other batting news, Black River got a  massive  performance out of  Remi Dieter, who  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with three  runs, one  triple,  and two  RBI. Those  three  runs gave  Dieter a new career-high.  Mallory Eckert was another key player,  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances with two  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double.
 Black River  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .676. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  OBP total in three consecutive  games.
Meanwhile, Waynedale made easy work of Chippewa  on Wednesday and carried off  a  15-4 win. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Golden Bears.
  Ashtyn Miller was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with three  stolen bases, two  runs,  and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Madi Miller, who  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with three  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI.
 Black River's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Waynedale, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.
Waynedale's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them:  Black River has been making plenty of contact this season,  having  averaged 9.1  hits per game. It's a different story for Waynedale, though, as  they've been averaging 11.1  hits. Given Black River's sizable advantage in that area, the Golden Bears will need to find a way to close that gap.
