Mica Mountain is a perfect 9-0 against Walden Grove since September of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Thunderbolts will be playing at home against the Red Wolves at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Mica Mountain is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Ironwood Ridge just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Nighthawks by a score of 3-2.
While Mica Mountain ultimately came up short, they really made Ironwood Ridge work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 28-26, 19-25, 22-25, 16-14.

Despite the loss, Mica Mountain saw an underclassman step up: sophomore MIA PARKER had six digs, four aces, and one block. PARKER has been hot recently, having also posted 19 or more assists the last three times she's played. VANEZIA LOPEZ was another key player, getting six aces and four digs.
Meanwhile, Walden Grove came up short against Ironwood Ridge on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Red Wolves have struggled against the Nighthawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
The final score came out to 25-15, 25-12, 25-20.
Walden Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Mica Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.
