Volleyball Recap: Kimberly Starts Season with Victory at Home

Kimberly took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Tuesday. They won by a set and slipped past the Brookfield East Spartans 2-1. For the Papermakers, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 win the Spartans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2023.

Kimberly had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-17, 15-10.

Kimberly got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Finley Van Lannen out in front who had 15 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Van Lannen has posted since back in October of 2024. Emma Tesch was another key player, getting 13 digs.

Kimberly wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Shawano Community on the 26th. As for Brookfield East, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Fond du Lac on the 26th.
