The Nebraska Lutheran Knights were the 70-59 winner over the Cross County Cougars when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Nebraska Lutheran was outmatched by the Cougars on the road and fell 69-29. Nebraska Lutheran was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-15.
Despite the defeat, Nebraska Lutheran saw an underclassman step up: Luke Otte scored nine points.
Ashton Seim continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Cross County, scoring 12 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Seim is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Thatcher Hanson, who scored nine points along with seven assists and four steals.
Nebraska Lutheran are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-5. As for Cross County, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nebraska Lutheran's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Longhorns at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st. Dorchester comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Cross County, they will head out on the road to square off against the Storm at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
