The Douglass Red Devils scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Lakeland Preparatory 104-29 on the road. Douglass' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Douglass was led to victory by Joshua Thompson and Taquez Butler. Thompson scored 20 points, while Butler scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thompson has scored all season. Makel Boyd was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Douglass pushed their record up to 20-0 with that win, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.1 points per game. As for Lakeland Preparatory, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Douglass won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Memphis Business Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. Memphis Business Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Lakeland Preparatory, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against KIPP Collegiate at 7:30 p.m.
