Baseball Recap: South Warren Snags Sixth Win in Last Eight Games

Corbin typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday South Warren proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Redhounds 10-1. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won 14 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

South Warren's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Griffin Rardin, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

South Warren is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That somehow still isn't as good as their 22-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Corbin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 18-15.

Coming up, South Warren will square off against Madison Central at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Spartans 3.5, the Indians 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Corbin, they will face off against Somerset at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
