The First Christian Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Gainesville Christian Community Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for First Christian and five for Gainesville Christian Community.
First Christian lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Saturday was a bit more commanding. They took a serious blow against Lake Wales, falling 60-31. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat First Christian has suffered since November 30, 2023.
Meanwhile, Gainesville Christian Community came up short against Northside Christian Academy on Saturday and fell 35-26.
First Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Gainesville Christian Community, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-8.
First Christian was dealt a bruising 74-45 loss at the hands of Gainesville Christian Community when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can First Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
