Basketball Recap: Oceanside Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Oceanside came into Friday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They strolled past the San Dieguito Academy Mustangs with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 69-55. This was payback for the Pirates, who suffered a 67-57 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Oceanside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Matix Agee, who went 8 of 15 on his way to 23 points and five boards. The dominant performance gave Agee a new career-high in points. Tan Nguyen was another key player, going 6 for 10 en route to 17 points and four steals.

Oceanside was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Oceanside's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 10-11. As for San Dieguito Academy, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-16.

Oceanside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-57 win against Mission Vista on the 29th. As for San Dieguito Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 112-35 defeat against Sage Creek on the 29th.
