Enka is 9-1 against Erwin since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Enka Jets will be playing at home against the Erwin Warriors at 8:00 p.m. Hopefully Enka focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Tuesday.
Enka was handed a 30-point loss in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Asheville on Tuesday. Enka had just enough and edged Asheville out 62-59. The win was just what Enka needed coming off of a 79-49 defeat in their prior game.
Sam Waddell was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Enka's points. Another player making a difference was Logan Trantham, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Erwin's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their seventh straight loss. They fell 58-49 to T.C. Roberson. Erwin has struggled against T.C. Roberson recently, as their matchup on Wednesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Enka's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-8. As for Erwin, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
Enka came out on top in a nail-biter against Erwin when the teams last played on January 3rd, sneaking past 63-60. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Erwin's Carson Wallace, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds.
